What happens when you mix New Kids on the Block with Scotch? Funky disco goodness.
Juan Sanchez & The Bullet make up the duo that is Speedboats & Big Explosions. “Fighting crime in funky times”, SBBE have a funky big room house sound, and in their remix of NKOTB’s Step By Step, we’re hit with a fat bass and a disco synth feel on top of the classic 90s pop song. It’s a free download, so if you’re in the mood for a throwback, get on ‘er.
If you look through some of SBBE’s older works, there’s some great finds (and a lot of it scotch powered mixes). Some of their originals lean towards the deep house genre, but I particularly enjoy their mashup of Crazibiza & Kevin Prise vs Azealia Banks:
