French producer Irish Steph has been snatching attention from top heads in the game since the release of his Power EP in September of last year with people like SebastiAn, Kavinsky and The Bloody Beetroots spinning his sound, which is a high-energy mega blend of rock, electro, pop and yes, a bit of Irish.

Now one year later, he is prepping for another release and this one is jam packed full of that same energy. Ladies and gentleman, it’s time to get punched in the face by the Crush EP.

There are two original tracks, the first being the title track. There are so many sounds in this song but they all come together very well, the patch bass keeping the funk, electro tinge to bring the hair on your neck to attention and big horns to give an epic vibe. Eleven kills it on the vocals and adds the perfect amount of hip/pop to the mix.

But if you’re thinking, “hey, I don’t hear any Irish influence in that track” then get acquainted with Junky Maggie. Irish fiddle with big funk band support and electronic edge, really fun stuff.

All the remixes are for Crush and to describe them all in one word would be fantastic.

But I have to say the one that really stood out to me was from Danish producer Eumig & Chinon (Christian Kastbjerg). He really took the track and made it his own, making a delightful feel good sound with his amazing ability to bring pop and funk together into some kind of magical new form. Some people are calling this their favorite remix of the year and it’s not hard to see why.
