While Lance held the fort here at Remix86 for the past week, I was off gallivanting in Toronto meeting friends, DJs, and celebs (well not really meeting, more so gawking at a distance). I had it coming when I returned to an email from Lance with over 25 tracks to post. Right now I’m starting to understand why 95% of blogs post mostly links or copied-and-pasted press releases. But when you have a passion for music, you want, no, you need to do more than that, which is maybe why we were nominated for the Bloggers Choice Award today (insert self plug here).
But it’s producers like Lenno that make it all worthwhile. The young Finnish producer has been killing it lately with his Mr. A & Something Good B.A.B.E Remix and his double single Your Style/Streets EP, and now continuing with his energetic and feelgood vibe we’ve got his new remix of Foster the People’s Helena Beat.
Part of Foster the People’s new remix EP, Lenno showcases his unique nu disco style by using a heavier, dancier and synthier sound (if that’s possible). I can’t seem to find much info on this remix EP, but I’m guessing it’ll have something to do with the Helena remix contest FTP held back in July. You can purchase the track via Sony Music Entertainment on Spotify, a relatively new (to America) cloud music service.
A couple of months ago Lenno also released his remix of Labtracks’ Robotic Love via Macarize. Originally uploaded as a preview called Neons and Lasers, a metaphor for the pumped up synth sounds, Lenno’s style is modern french disco and addictive as all hell. Also be sure to check out the original below, which has a smooth and dreamy Anoraak-type feel.
Stay tuned for more Helena remixes and much more from Lenno in the future.
